Sara Mather Becomes the North East’s Female Titleist Certified Specialists

Sara Mather, lead clinician at InSync Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in Hexham, has reached a significant milestone in her professional development by qualifying as a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified specialist — one of the few women in the North East to hold this accolade.

This certification recognises Sara’s expertise in assessing golfers’ physical capabilities and movement patterns using the globally recognised TPI framework, which identifies physical limitations that can affect golf performance and injury risk. TPI professionals are trained to analyse strength, flexibility, balance and biomechanics, then design tailored programmes to help golfers move better, reduce injury risk and improve consistency and power in their swings.

At InSync Physiotherapy, Sara now brings this specialised golf assessment — traditionally used by elite athletes — to players of all levels across the region. The clinic’s TPI Golf Assessment screens flexibility, strength and movement specifically for golf, helping individuals unlock better performance while protecting their bodies on and off the course.

Sara’s achievement marks a boost for the local golf community, giving players in the North East direct access to top-tier physical coaching and performance support without needing to travel afar.
